Identified Patient is a thrill-seeking – and providing – producer. Based in Amsterdam, the Dutch artist and DJ otherwise known as Job Veerman is driven by an appetite for pulse-raising music that sparks something within its listeners.
He applies a similar philosophy to his work, which he’s released on labels such as Pinkman, Common Thread and Dekmantel UFO, as well his club sets and festival gigs at events such as the Netherlands’ own ADE. Most recently – as in, literally last week – Veerman stepped out on his and Gamma Intel’s new Nerve Collect label with an EP titled Elevator Music for Headbangers. Pummelling and unpredictable, yet entirely graceful, would be an on-the-nose description of the techno-rooted, experimentally-minded project.
On his debut mix for Crack, Veerman ushers us through two blinding hours of tunes; undulating rhythms, blistering electro and lashings of breaks brought together with a sole purpose to thrill. “This mix features fresh sounds I currently really admire and producers I respect a lot,” says Veerman. “Cruise into 2023 with me; bright, moving, and a sparkle of hope. Nonetheless, always keep one eye open for a rendezvous in the twilight zone…” Let’s get going then, shall we?
