Korzi is a DJ and producer hailing from Birmingham.
Now based in Manchester, where he co-helms the system-rattling Left, Right & Centre club night and label, his enduring dedication to a rumbling, low-end heavy way of life speaks to his relationship with music thus far. Not just as an artist nor a promoter of such styles, but as a fan. He’s previously cited dubstep-loving school mates, the FIFA Street 2 soundtrack and music YouTube channels as early stepping stones into a world he’s since set out to mark his own mark in.
Off the back of the conception of his new label Bone Idle, Korzi provides Crack with a mix that’s representative of an artist very much plugged in to the current crop of producers purveying hard-to-pin-down club music “under the umbrella of techno/leftfield/bass”.
“This mix combines some of my own productions with a solid bunch of tunes by lots of friends and family,” he tells us. “The sounds and styles explored really embody the direction of my recent sets and production. I have found myself deeply fond of tunes that have a bit of a cinematic character but, at the same time, are contrasted with elements of dark, heavy and weighty sounds. I’m also hinting towards the future of what’s to come via releases on Bone Idle and further afield.”
