Live from Field Maneuvers: LCN

Techno Bass Club

At last summer’s Field Maneuvers festival, Bristol-born producer, artist and DJ LCN, formerly known as LCY, raised the tempo with a high-energy set that balanced dark, bass-heavy sounds with good-time club bangers. “My angelic friend Yelena turned to me and said, ‘It’s a house party, just have fun,'” they remember. “So any situation where you need a unserious wiggle and a bit of fun, this mix would suit.”

Who: LCN.

Where: Bristol is my true home and love, but I’ve been in London for almost a decade.

What: I don’t have a fixed genre; I more so tend to balance different energies throughout and travel through them like a story. On the rare occasion though, when the right party calls, the chaotic twink in me gets summoned and I play as camp and silly as possible. FM did that to me.

When is this mix made for? Any situation where you need a unserious wiggle and a bit of fun.

Why: I really feel like music itself is the closest thing I have to a god. Not in a traditional religious sense, but more in an I’d have to be up til 4 am with no sleep to explain it to you at the afters kind of way. Sadly, I don’t think I have the word count here.
