Made by womxn – Mixed by Loraine James

Techno Pop Experimental

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, Hyperdub’s Loraine James supplies a mix of awe-inspiring productions from some of the most exciting womxn in music. The North London artist’s album For You And I, released last year, placed her well and truly among the company on show here, and a follow-up EP, New Year’s Substitution 2, confirmed it once again.

Sometimes smooth, sometimes angular, experimental to the core and a joy to listen to, this mix is a further endorsement of James’ ear. As she puts it, “only 2.1% of producers are womxn, but 100% of these tracks are bangers.”
