Omakase Recordings co-head Goldie B takes us deep into South France’s underground with a genre-spanning Specialist Mix. It’s a wide-ranging survey – beginning with warm house, moving through gun-finger garage and techy grooves, before ramping up the tempo with a liquid drum’n’bass finish.
“I spent quite a long time on this mix, with the aim of capturing both my own essence and the vibrant scene in and around Marseille,” she says. “While the artists from Marseille and the surrounding region may not enjoy the same spotlight as their Parisian peers, their talent is unquestionable. What you’ll hear in this mix is just a glimpse of their boundless creativity. Marseille is a city that personifies freedom, creativity and humanity, qualities that shine through in the work of its artists. This mix is a celebration of that spirit.”
Goldie B plays at Le Bon Air Festival, which takes place in Marseille between May 17 and May 19.
