Piezo – real name Luca Mucci – is an Italian DJ, producer and sound artist who’s released on labels such as Idle Hands, Wisdom Teeth and Version as well as his own imprint Ansia in recent years. Back in September, he jumped aboard Italian label Hundebiss Records to release his debut album Perdu: an 11-track outing that saw Piezo occupying a middle ground between raw, earthy textures and crystalline sound design.
For his Crack Mix, Piezo interweaves tracks from a string of his contemporaries. From ZULI to MoMA Ready, TSVI to Rian Treanor via Siete Catorce, it’s a hair-raising mix that leans into various styles – be it wiggy techno, mutated footwork or something else entirely – but refuses to settle on any one.
