Pop Zone: Bruce

Electro Pop Soundtrack Ambient Blues

Last month, Bruce shared Ready, the second EP of his elegantly evolving pop journey, a sonic direction which the Bristol-based producer, DJ and vocalist first unveiled at En Masse in his home city last autumn. Dealing in heartfelt lyricism, earnest, crooning vocals and a richly evocative sound palette, he explores the tenderness and turbulence of love. Something which he does with gracious vulnerability and a sense of playfulness.

For his Pop Zone mix, Bruce taps into pop music that conveys a timeless quality. “I wanted to create an introverted, immersive journey,” Bruce begins, “old blues, movie soundtracks and modern classics; all woven together with swampy, ambient textures.”

“Each and every track holds a special place in my heart,” he continues, “and many of them greatly influenced the songwriting and storytelling that went into my forthcoming album.” An introspective and atmospheric listen perfectly suited to the cosy vibes we’re craving now the wintery months are upon us. But don’t just listen to us, press play and delve in.
