DJ Trick, the New York scene staple, head honcho of the Club Cringe collective and director of infamous, recently reopened Brooklyn venue Rash, provides a storming 50 minutes for our Pop Zone series. With Club Cringe and Rash standing at the centre of her city’s hyperpop scene, the mix spans sleazy rock, EBM, club techno, J pop and vocal-flecked trance.
“The mix is me having fun and trying some new things before getting on the plane and heading off for tour. It’s messy and clashy and has a lot of guitars, that’s how I like it,” she says. “I ended up playing a lot of vocal cuts from groups in between pop and club scenes – Sakanaction, Club Eat, Garbage, Nine Inch Nails.

Club Cringe will be performing at Sónar Festival, which takes place in Barcelona between June 13 and June 15
