As Protomartyr gear up for the release of their fifth album, Ultimate Success Today, on Friday (17 July), as well as a live premiere of the visual album tonight (15 July) on their website, the Detroit rockers step into the booth for Domino’s crackaud.io residency.
Leaving aside the coiled tension of their regular output, their mix digs instead into a collection of funk and experimental electronics. Often soft and sweet and always just a little strange, the artists featured span much of the African continent. Elsewhere, there’s also luminaries such as Iggy Pop, Mica Levi and Frank Sinatra Jr.
