Crack Magazine is marking Pride season with a series of specialist mixes and playlists dedicated to LGBTQ+ club nights and promoters. From the iconic parties of bygone eras through to the emerging events breaking through in 2022, we’ll be highlighting the sounds of these parties and the artists that shape them.
Queer Bruk is the club night and platform bringing Afro-Caribbean music and culture to the queer nightlife scene in London. Here, London-based DJ and Queer Bruk mainstay Donnie Sunshine stays true to his name as he presents a sun-soaked set centred around the sounds that shape the party.
“This mix represents summer 2022 in London,” says Sunshine. “It’s full of vibrant, high-energy and vibey dancehall, Afrobeats, soca and amapiano.” A fitting soundtrack to Carnival weekend.
Listen to the mix and read an interview with Queer Bruk founder Akeil Onwukwe-Adamson.
