Today’s Crack Mix is a “heady and heavy mix for summer nights” from Helsinki-based DJ, producer and Post Bar resident Sansibar.
The ascendant artist – real name Sunny Seppä – released his debut EP Quadra in 2018 via Aussie imprint Altered States Tapes. He’s since released on globe-spanning labels such as Avoidance, Natural Sciences, Darknet and Kalahari Oyster Cult, careening back and forth through unadulterated electro, breakbeat trance and other full-throttle strains of timeless-meets-straight-from-the-year-3000 club ammo as he pleases.
His sets unequivocally bang, too, as evidenced by this 80-minute recording. Seppä has previously said that he aims to elicit physical reactions in those who engage with his music. Upon listening to his Crack Mix, we’d say he’s achieved that goal with flying colours.
