Kickstart your Sunday with an invigorating blend of techno, drum’n’bass and groove-led sonics from São Paulo’s Semper Volt.
This hour-long mix from Semper Volt – real name João Tenório – moves through tracks from Anz, Skee Mask, Nikki Nair, Sam Binga, Addison Groove and more. He also weaves in selection of his own tunes – be it new releases, unreleased sneak peaks or works in progress. Tenório’s entry lands fresh off the back of a new remix project entitled Bateu RMX, which features fellow São Paulo producer L-Beats. The original version of Bateu featured on Tenório’s 2020 LP Cristal.
Speaking on the mix over email, Tenório says: “I wanted to take this opportunity to show some forthcoming work, including two unreleased remixes from the Prisma EP by Ananda and L-Side, and new tracks by me.”
“I like music that feels futuristic, with a lot of bass, a lot of synths, broken grooves and some emotion,” he adds. “In this mix, the only constant, aside from eclecticism, is the low frequency which is intrinsic to everything I love. This is where I want to steer my work to.”
