serpentwithfeet – Mix for Pride Month

R&B Hip-Hop Soul

serpentwithfeet is an artist of rare talent. His operatic vocals tumble and soar with heart-stopping grandeur, yet still feel playful and honest; his instrumentals reach the avant-garde fringes of pop and R&B. Today we present his mix in celebration of Pride Month, with a particular focus on the Black LGBTQ community.

Speaking about his mix, serpentwithfeet says: “To me, Pride is another opportunity for us to celebrate the fortitude and ingenuity of the Black LGBTQ community. Pride reminds me that in order to live in a new world we must first imagine it. I think it is important for us to avoid white-washing Pride month. Gay magazines, gay bars and gay clubs need to support and uplift Black LGBTQ folx year-round.

“Most of the artists I included on this playlist are queer. I also chose these tracks because they bring me infinite joy and I love singing along to them.”
