Emerging out of Montréal’s fertile underground scene, DJ and producer SIM is next to take to the stage for our Crack Mix series.
Released in March on Nervous Horizon, his dancehall-indebted Terminate EP stays true to the searing club mutations that have fast become synonymous with the London-based label. In keeping with the record, SIM blesses our mix series with an hour of syncopated rhythms, dancehall cuts and pulsating electronic heat, with tracks from the likes of Ehua, Jurango, G Sudden and Henzo inside.
“For my Crack Mix debut, I wanted to represent what goes on in my head,” explains SIM over email. “Stuck between a wonky synth line and a thundering sub-bass, I’m constantly picturing how molecules would dance.”
