A storm is brewing in Miami. A city best-known for art deco and hypercommercialism is getting shaken up by a new school of club experimentalists. Alongside the likes of Nick León and Bitter Babe, Jonny from Space – the DJ and producer who also runs artist logistics at Miami’s infamous Club Space – and Sister System are fast-becoming hometown heroes.
For the Specialist Mix series, Jonny from Space and Sister System take it b2b for a session celebrating the sounds of their city and producers such as Danny Daze, Coffintexts and INVT. It’s a hard’n’heavy accompaniment to our new scene feature on Miami’s underground club community, penned by Rachel Grace Almeida.
“We wanted to cover the past, present and future of Miami,” says Jonny from Space. “A mega-mix of influences, styles and pockets that make Miami what it is right now – and captures where we are headed.”
