Previously known for dancefloor productions as one half of Ego Troopers and Future Sound of Antwerp, under his solo moniker, Movulango, Ghent-based producer and musician Mozes Mosuse taps into a decidedly psychedelic sound palette. Within his work, the artist spans woozy electronica, cosmic folk jams and Balearic pop. One of the newest members to join Belgian label and studio DEEWEE, last week he released his debut EP Mirror in Man. Years in the making, the unhurried creative journey behind the release makes for a deeply personal and dreamy listen.
To celebrate the EP and its release, Movulango has put together a specialist mix delving into the past and present sounds of the Belgian underground. “This mix came about through digging into the Belgian underground and avant-garde of the 80s, and mixing it with more contemporary stuff,” he told us. “I tried to include a lot of genres that I’m interested in, and I also included a lot of tracks from peers and friends surrounding me who make amazing music – I’m very proud of them!”
