If you were looking to shine a light on an essential element of Bianca Scout’s Sunday Mix, the most obvious choice would be her voice.
Over the course of 75-odd-minutes, it’s this instrument – glitchy here, wispy there, haunting throughout – that the London-based musician and choreographer uses to guide you through songs from her catalogue thus far, from unreleased edits to forthcoming work via music from her latest release, The Heart of the Anchoress. Much like an ASMR soundtrack from a busy train station, filled with noise and bustle and background buzz, and stories and strangers to boot, Scout’s mix will take you to somewhere else entirely this Sunday.
“I’ve chosen to select tracks from all across of my archive, threading them together in a way where distant memory fragments, a chaos of legends where you have the potential to experience an essence, showing you what I can not,” says Scout on the mix. “This is in the absence of words, moving and opening, another step, sudden, back off the neck. The process could involve some sort of fading of your material body, like sand. Each track their own episode, like the entering of a vessel able to journey through multiple stories happening all at the same time…”
