Milan-based artist, musician and Haunter Records founder Daniele Guerrini has dedicated his career to exploring the possibilities sound. Making music under the moniker Heith, he creates conceptual projects and live shows with a research-rich approach, zooming out to consider the theoretical framework of his ideas as much as he focuses in on texture and sound design. His new project, Escape Lounge – Heith’s second full-length release on PAN – is inspired by contemporary digital spirituality and interpretations of experience, and was recorded with collaborators across Milan, London, Stockholm and Berlin.
Before returning to London next week to play FIGURA’s Seeing in Dreams as part of a PAN showcase, Heith put together a mix of music he’s been listening to recently to wind down to afterwards. Lean back and listen.
Where: I’m wandering through the mountains with two friends – specifically the Dolomites – just pausing by a lake.
What: Familiar. Alien. Suspended.
Can you describe your ideal Sunday? Spending time in nature with the loved ones.
What’s your ideal soundtrack to it? Sometimes there’s no need for a soundtrack, just listening to the life surrounding you.
How do you like to unwind away from music? Escape the city buzz. I have an on-and-off relationship with the city in which I live. I can’t stay here for too long so often I just go to other places.
Describe your Sunday mix: It’s made up of music I’ve been listening to recently, some new discoveries and some old music I just went back to.
Heith plays FIGURA’s Seeing in Dreams on Friday 9 May at HERE at Outernet.
