Food for a low-key, free and easy afternoon. For 61 minutes, Finnish artist Jaakko Eino Kalevi nurtures an aural landscape where tracks by the likes of Azymuth and Branko Mataja rub shoulders with tunes from Yukihiro Takahashi, Paul Hardcastle and CAN. A dreamy yet never somnambulant, wide-roaming yet cohesive offering that’s reminiscent, in its patchwork-like structure, of his new album, Chaos Magic.
“This is a mix of songs I have been listening to lately, which takes in all sorts from Polish new wave and French pop to US outsider rock and library exotica. I usually like to build up the atmosphere slowly. It has some new findings and some old favourites. Brazilian music has a very unique but recognisable sound and Yamasuki’s Yama Yama captures the Japanese groove that I love. This mix reflects the eclectic spirit of my new album Chaos Magic, which is also a musical journey filled with different ideas and styles.”
