Sunday Mix: Lankum

Sunday Ambient

Lankum‘s music feels both comfortingly familiar and completely its own world. Though their roots are firmly in folk, the Irish quartet blends live instrumentation with more experimental sounds, including drone, black metal and more.

For their Sunday Mix, they pull from a characteristically wide variety of sounds, from traditional to ambient to Americana. Lean back and listen.

Where: Taking it handy at home in the North West of Ireland.

What: A mixture of a bunch of things. Heavy when it’s heavy, and light when it’s light.

Ideal Sunday? There are amazing places to walk around Sligo, so getting out and finishing the week with some calm time is always good for the brain.

What’s your ideal soundtrack to it? Just let the mood dictate the music.

How do you unwind away from music? Swimming. There are loads of amazing beaches near where I live. Also playing computer games and watching films.
