Sunday Mix: Miguel Atwood-Ferguson

Sunday Jazz Soundtrack Ambient Classical

This week, we’re welcoming prolific multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer and arranger Miguel Atwood-Ferguson to our Sunday Mix series.

The set is made up of exactly what the Los Angeles-based Brainfeeder affiliate does so skilfully: deliberate washes of warm, subtle classical, jazz and ambient, with medicinal magic running below an un-intrusive, easy listening surface.

“This 33-song, close to two-hour mix is incredibly dear to me and contains compositions and recordings that have been influencing me for many years,” says Atwood-Ferguson, whose debut solo album – the mammoth 52-track opus Les Jardins Mystiques Vol.1 – arrived at the tail-end of 2023, some dozen or so years after work on it began. “I would describe this particular mix as music for reflection, empowerment, heart strengthening, joy, and open-mindedness.”
