Sunday Mix: ML Buch

Sunday Indie Classical

Danish composer and producer ML Buch delivers her contribution to the Sunday Mix series. A match made in heaven.

Last autumn, the Copenhagen-based musician cracked open the door to her sonic universe wider than ever before with the release of her second full-length, Suntub – a gorgeously concrete yet free-wheeling, surreal yet earthly album that made its way into more than a handful of personal end-of-year lists from the Crack Magazine team. Its cover art – an image of the artist yielding a guitar in some cropland landscape, the sun’s rays hitting the instrument just so, triggering a lens flare effect – encapsulating its many moods.

It’s the album track Slide that opens Buch’s Sunday set, setting the tone for the rest of the beguiling mix, which features music from Alexandre Desplat, György Ligeti, Barbara Monk Feldman and more.
