Sunday Mix: Mo Ayoub

Sunday Jazz R&B Ambient

Calm and comforting weekend sounds from DJ and radio broadcaster Mo Ayoub, who runs through tracks by the likes of Tim Hecker, Orion Sun and Space Afrika across this restorative Sunday Mix.

Speaking on his inspiration behind the recording, Ayoub explained that, for him, “Sundays became so much more than just a pause and reset” this year. “I try to take it back to my roots and think of it as the start of a new week,” he explains, “which often means falling into a very strange emotional state of reflecting on what’s been whilst contemplating what’s to come… it’s almost melancholic, I guess.”

Continuing, he added: “This is just a small morsel of calm recollection through sound formed of artists old and new, including firm favourites I don’t often get to share through the avenues open to me. When I need a moment or want to remember family, friends, loved ones, I’ll completely lean into this part of the musical spectrum. I hope it can bring you some comfort, too.”
