Philipp Gorbachev and his band KOLOKOL – which translates to “the bell” – curate the tracklist for this week’s Sunday Mix.
As bell ringers and instrumentalists, KOLOKOL perform large AV shows that incorporate noise with non-music and industrial sounds. After his 2016 album Unlock the Box, Gorbachev himself became a bellringer and documented the experience with the sound of Orthodox church bells on his third LP KOLOKOL.
On this Sunday Mix, Gorbachev and KOLOKOL explore “resonating objects, vibration of all kinds”. A tense, doom-laden mix that gives way to catharsis.
