Sunday Mix: Sarathy Korwar

Sunday Jazz Folk

Born in the US, raised in India and based in London, Sarathy Korwar creates music that builds and shifts – expansive sounds that nod to his adventures in life and sound, and connect the dots between styles like jazz and Indian classical; electronic and hip-hop.

Here, the celebrated percussionist, producer and bandleader – who also releases music as Rathisa – guides you through your Sunday morning routine with a mesmerising mix of songs that influenced the sound and ethos of his new album, KALAK.

“The album (and this mix) is about surrendering to something greater than the individual; about community and collective imagination,” says Korwar. “I hope these songs fill [you] with wonder and questions.”
