Sunday Mix: Westerman

Pop Sunday Jazz Soul

Westerman makes pop music for the soul, using the likes of Kate Bush, Neil Young and Bill Withers as touchstones, though equally the fingerprints of his friend and collaborator Bullion can be keenly felt in his easy, folky compositions.

With his debut album, Your Hero is Not Dead, slated for release on 5 June, via PIAS, this mix serves as a glimpse into the influences and whims that inform Westerman’s arresting sound.
