Unlimited Soul has had quite the summer.
Back in July, the South African DJ and producer teamed up with amapiano star DBN Gogo on the bright and captivating EP Break Through. That same month, he joined the likes of Teno Afrika, Vigro Deep and Mr JazziQ (plus DBN Gogo, too) on the NTS-released compilation Amapiano Now. The 17-track project spotlighted a bevy of South African producers with unique takes on the thriving genre, resulting in a broad release that sauntered through amapiano’s various shades and affiliated styles.
His all-originals Crack Mix occupies a similarly broad space. “The mix is 100 percent Unlimited Soul productions,” he tells Crack Magazine over email. “I’m influenced by a variety of music, but what stands out to me is the creativity put into techno, as well as Afro tech. This mix captures the variety of different club sounds out there. It is also inspired by amapiano’s energy, mood, vibe and emotions.”
