Metropolis Sessions 004: FatimaDang

We’re hugely excited to present the fourth instalment of the Metropolis Sessions – a new live session series recorded at London’s iconic Metropolis Studios, one of the best recording spaces in Europe. The series is powered by Sennheiser.

We’ll be using this series as an opportunity spotlight for some of our favourite artists, welcoming them to the studio to capture their sound through a world-class system.

Fatima has been a Crack Magazine favourite for some time. Her cocktail of luminous neo-soul, silky jazz, bassy experimentalism and confessional songwriting make her a truly unique proposition on the musical map of contemporary London. She recently unveiled her second studio LP, And Yet It’s All Love – an open-book of a record untangling the anxieties and desires that come with romance and adulthood in 2018. The record showcased a mature, rounded sound that blooms and flourishes on every listen.

The record’s opener, Dang sets the mood. The slow-burning, loose neo-soul track unfurls against Fatima’s spacey, velvety vocals. We were thrilled to get Fatima, along with the Eglo Live Band down to Metropolis Studios to record a live session of the track.

And Yet It’s All Love is out now via Eglo. Fatima will perform an intimate seated show in the round at Roundhouse, London on 23 January.
