Yeezy has announced his plans to launch Donda – a cosmetics line named after his mother
According to TMZ, the Atlanta-born rapper has filed legal documents to start producing Donda – a new beauty venture which will be selling makeup, perfumes, lotions and more.
The label is named after his mother, Donda, who passed away in 2007.
While setting foot in the beauty industry hasn’t been mentioned before, West did previously tweet his plans of launching a communications company named Donda back in February 2016. The musician displayed a diagram detailing the industries he wished to influence, including the medical research, hospitality and alternative energy sources sectors.

This isn’t the first time the musician has launched a line named after his mother. The now-defunct DONDA line was West’s first foray into high fashion, for which he was mentored by Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci.
West recently displayed his Yeezy Season 5 collection at Chelsea Piers in New York. The rapper came under fire before New York Fashion Week for scheduling his show on the official calendar without consulting the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America). He then later moved the date.
Father Stretch Out My Hands Pt. 2 from his 2016 release The Life Of Pablo was featured in Crack’s list of the best collaborations last year. The album was listed at number three on Crack’s article on the best albums of 2016.
