Falty DL + Lone

Sankeys | 16th March

Sankeys has built its reputation with stellar line-ups seasons over, and tonight’s assembly of New York’s FaltyDL and Lone for their latest Fiesta bill is certainly no exception.

During his hour-long set, Lone flaunts the exact hyperactive digital marvels that exploded across his 2012 Galaxy Garden release. He bounces high-octane metallic melodies on tracks such as The Animal Pattern, and switches over to drummed percussion and jungle-tinged vocal drops upon Crystal Caverns 1991, causing the neon basement to swell. And by pulling-off pulsating build-ups from every angle, Lone translates the resilience of his debut release to his live set.

Filtering out for a smaller crowd, FaltyDL doesn’t let the peaked-too-early punters rain on his parade. He drops an amalgamation of tracks from D’Angelo remixes over to Tessela’s banger of Hackney Parrot and back again with blissful tunes from his third release, Hardcourage. The vibes here are set to a high, admirable standard tonight with a welcome induction of Chicago house style anthem Brighter Days from Cajmere setting the dance floor alight. Well done Sankeys’s Fiesta, you’ve wowed us yet again.
