London’s Studio Spaces venue granted 24 hour licence permits

Finally, some good news for London clubbing

At a time of uncertainty for venues, with fabric facing strict new security measures and Plastic People abruptly closing its doors earlier this month, there has been a glimmer of positivity for the city. The Studio Spaces E1 venue, operated by The Hydra, has now been granted a 24 hour licence for several occasions in 2015. The Wapping venue has been granted an extension allowing them to open for 24 hours on 20 occasions in 2015, plus an additional 20 occasions through the use of Temporary Event Notices, meaning they could apply for a total of 40 nights over the year.

Speaking to Resident Advisor, the promoters behind The Hydra have said, “Studio Spaces E1 and The Hydra have been working with Tower Hamlets authorities for the last two years to create a fully licensed, safe and reliable venue for people wanting to experience a late night music event. Great attention to detail has been placed with liaising with our neighbours and meeting the authorities requirements for a licensed premises.” (via RA)
