Motley Crüe Memoir ‘The Dirt’ Optioned by Focus Features

The controversial memoir will be made into a feature film

Controversial Motley Crüe memoir The Dirt: Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band has apparently been optioned for a feature film by production company Focus Features. The news broke last year that Tommy Lee had been to a read-through of the script with Jackass director Jeff Tremaine, who is currently attached to direct the film.

Lee, speaking to GMI Rock News, reacted to the script with a statement that seems to offer promise of the adaptation’s faithfulness to the book. “This movie is insane,” he said. “Even just the way the movie starts you’re like, ‘How the hell are we gonna rate this thing, triple R?’” With Tremaine attached to direct and Focus now on board, it looks like the film may be edging closer to completion.
