The Sonics to release first album in 48 years

Garage-rock pioneers The Sonics have announced the release of This Is The Sonics – their first studio album of new material since 1967.

The Tacoma, Washington band formed in 1960, and their style of rock ‘n’ roll is considered to be particularly raw for its time. They returned to playing live in 2007 and the line-up that recorded This Is The Sonics features original members Jerry Roslie (keyboards, vocals), Larry Parypa (guitar, vocals), and Rob Lind (sax, harmonica, vocals).

This Is The Sonics will be released 31 March via the band’s own label Revox. You can hear their new single Bad Betty as well as their classic 1965 track Psycho below.
