Licensed to Ill joins Mike D, MCA and AdRock as they go from teenage punk rockers to international rap stars
Camden People’s Theatre will host an off-the-wall theatre performance of the life and times of the Beastie Boys from the end of next month.
Using rapping, DJing, physical comedy and puppetry, Licensed to Ill will tell the tale of Beastie Boys’ journey from the streets of NYC and into the ears of millions worldwide.
A creative partnership between Simon Maeder and Adam El Hagar, the show will also use the talents of Abandonman and The Rubberbandits to shed “light on many issues still raising hackles: racism towards & within rap; misogyny; the battle for hiphop’s soul, between those using it for protest, & for profit.”
