Massive Attack release new music via app

Fantom is “a sensory music player that remixes and reforms songs uniquely using a variety of environmental variables”

Some new Massive Attack tunes are reportedly floating around in a new app, say Pitchfork. Slithers of four new tracks can be heard by “remixing” them: Dead Editors; Ritual Spirit; Young Fathers collab, Voodoo in My Blood; and what is possibly a Tricky team-up, Take It There.

The app, part-designed by Robert del Naja is “a sensory music player that remixes and reforms songs uniquely using a variety of environmental variables including location, movement, time of day, heartbeat and the integral moving image camera” according to a press release.

“In addition to a constantly evolving listening experience, Fantom also allows users to create and record unique audio-visual clips which can be shared and saved and easily shared via socials, SMS and peer-to-peer channels.”

Massive Attack also announced a European tour late last year. See the dates here.
