QRATES add a distribution service to their crowd-funding site

Artists and labels will be able to distribute their vinyl directly from the pressing plant to a network of record stores worldwide

QRATES, the Tokyo start-up behind the Kickstarter-style crowd-funding site that lets you fund your own vinyl pressing and pre-sale, has now added a new service to its offering.

The new “Store Delivery” program will “redefine vinyl distribution for both artists/labels and record stores by offering an open and fair B to B marketplace”. A network of 200 stores in Europe and Japan will take part in the service from launch including HMV in Japan and Juno Records in the UK who will be able to buy the records from the site.
