New book 313OneLove celebrates Detroit techno and house

Berlin-based photographer Marie Staggat’s new book features photographs of Detroit figureheads including Carl Craig, Mike Huckaby and Moodymann

At the end of March the world will be treated to a 320-page photo book celebrating some of the amazing and innovative music that’s come out of Detroit over the years.

313ONELOVE will include over 170 portraits, stories, interviews, quotes and drawings from the likes of Kevin Saunderson, Carl Craig, Mike Huckaby, Robert Hood, Moodymann, Stacey Hale, Luke Hess, Underground Resistance affiliates Mike Banks and DJ Skurge and Motor City crews Charivari and Detroit Techno Militia. Staggat’s photos apparently focus mainly on close-ups of DJs hands and ears as “the tools of their trade”.

313ONELOVE is published on 31 March with an official launch at Tresor’s Globus room set to feature Underground Resistance live band Timeline and the book will be celebrated in Detroit on 25 May with an event at the city’s Movement festival.

The book will be available online and in all Carhartt WIP stores from 31 March with some proceeds going to Detroit children’s charities.
