Mac DeMarco becomes the latest artist to cover the musical icon
It looks like indie rocker Mac DeMarco will be the latest artist to pay tribute to recently deceased singer Prince by covering his music.
The Canadian slacker king has teased what appears to be a studio cover of It’s Gonna Be Lonely from Prince’s 1979 self-titled album.
Writing on Instagram Mac said “We lost a true hero of mine the other day. Although it’s sad, I’m sure he’s ripping a hot solo right now in the next dimension. RIP.”
Prince passed away earlier this week at his Paisley Park estate in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Check out the teaser for Mac’s tribute below.
