John Carpenter returns to Halloween series

The director says he wants to take the long-running horror franchise back to its roots

John Carpenter the creator and original director of slasher franchise Halloween has announced his return to the series. The director will work on the upcoming Halloween film as executive producer and may even produce the film’s soundtrack according to Consequence of Sound.

Halloween needs to return to its traditions,” John Carpenter told press at a conference last night. “I feel like the movies have gotten away from that… Michael is not just a human being; he’s a force of nature, like the wind. That’s what makes him so scary.”

Another of the film’s producers Jason Blum has commented that it looks very promising that Carpenter will sign on to produce the film’s soundtrack. Carpenter recently his second album Lost Themes II earlier this year.
