ATP Festival cancel Iceland festival, announce administration

After a string of cancelled festivals and troubled events ATP have finally decided to close down operations with immediate effect

Earlier this year ATP cancelled two festivals in the UK and they have just announced that their upcoming Iceland festival has also been pulled. Following these cancellations the company have just announced that they are going into administration with immediate effect.

“It is with deep sadness we are announcing that ATP Festivals and live promotions are closing down. After months of speculation, our funding for Iceland has been pulled and we are no longer able to continue so will be closing down the entire live side of ATP festivals and live promotions with immediate effect and going into administration.” ATP wrote on their Facebook page, “We are very sorry we could not make this work and have tried to survive throughout all our recent losses but we are no longer able to trade and have to accept we cannot go on.”

ATP Festival once attracted a loyal following due to their eclectic curators and left field music policy but trouble began when their London-based festival Jabberwocky was cancelled just two days before it was due to take place. Since then their festivals have been marred by cancellations and poor sales to the point where they have now had to liquidate the company entirely. It is not yet clear whether their affiliated record label will still continue operating.

Tickets for all remaining ATP-affiliated UK shows will remain valid but have been transferred to a new, as-yet-unnamed promoter. See the full announcement in the Facebook post below.
