The upcoming batch of programmes will include a documentary on The Beach Boys and their legendary Pet Sounds album, another episode of Danny Baker’s People’s History of Pop featuring memorabilia (including a rare mask of David Bowie’s face) and Arena: 1966 which marks the year pop music and pop culture ripped up the rule book.

BBC Radio 6 Music will also feature tailored programming including contributions from Yoko Ono, Julian Cope, Roger Waters and Lenny Kaye while BBC Radio 2 will broadcast a celebration of England’s 1966 World Cup win including various artists performing hits from that year.
