Aphex Twin has unveiled his first official music video in seventeen years, and it’s been directed by 12-year-old gaming YouTuber and huge Aphex Twin fan, Ryan Wyer. “Aphex Twin and Warp Records commissioned Ryan to direct, edit and produce the video for the track from the forthcoming Cheetah EP, after becoming aware of his work through his YouTube channel epic1:40d Gaming,” the press materials explain.
Wyer’s Aphex Twin addiction is clear from his prolific history of self-shot videos, most notably his most popular upload, Aphex Twin – minipops 67 [120.2][source field mix], which shows him bopping around his estate with his mates with his favourite Aphex Twin tune in the background.
This new video shows Wyer following the same formula alongside a Richard David James composition that’s taken from his forthcoming Cheetah EP. Watch it above.
