Altern8’s seminal LP Full On Mask Hysteria to be remastered

Early-90s heavyweights Altern8 mark 25 years since they burst on the scene with a reissue of their ’92 classic

Given the mining of rave and acid’s sonic palettes by the likes of Zomby, Daniel Avery and Legowelt in recent years, not to mention the wealth of nights celebrating the sound and feel of those parties, the influence of the early 90s rave scene can be felt more strongly in current club culture than at any other time since the turn of the millennium. Thanks to this and a particularly raucous show at Bestival 2010, the gas-mask donning duo Altern8 have enjoyed something of a resurgence in recent years, playing Bloc, Freerotation and Boiler Room in the last year.

The remastered version of their ’92 classic Full On Mask Hysteria has now been announced as the next in line to receive a re-release, and will be available in triple heavyweight vinyl, contains tracks missing from the original record and remixes by KiNK, 2 Bad Mice, Shadow Dancer and Luke Vibert.

Full On Mask Hysteria will be re-released in late September via Network/Blech.
