The Coronet survives for one more year

The Elephant and Castle venue has accepted a one year extension to it’s lease, now ending in January 2018

The Coronet in Elephant and Castle, South London, was due to close at the end of this year. Despite efforts to save the historic building, first built as the Theatre Royal in 1872, widespread re-development in the area had made the pressure to close insurmountable.

In a welcome change from the barrage of news about venues in London shutting their doors, The Coronet team have revealed that they will stay open for another year. In 2016 it has played host to the likes of Jeff Mills, Thee Oh Sees, Carl Craig and after parties for Sunfall and Pride in London.
