The Jesus and Mary Chain’s first album in 18 years is coming

The Scottish band have signed to Warner Brothers and will release their new album in March 2017

Creation Records founder Alan McGee has revealed that seminal 90s rock band The Jesus and Mary Chain are set to release their first album in 18 years in March 2017. “They’ve made another album! It’s a big deal! It’s unbelievable,” McGee told CBC. “They’ve just made an album and I’ve signed them to Warners! It’s coming out end of next March. It’s kinda enormous!”

The band played numerous live dates in recent years to mark the anniversary of their album Psychocandy and even intended to release an album back in 2007 but the recording never materialised due to conflicts between band members Jim and William Reid.
