Listen to Young Fathers’ new song taken from T2: Trainspotting soundtrack

The Edinburgh band’s songs are “the heartbeat of the film” says director Danny Boyle

On 10 January, a presumed tracklist for T2: Trainspotting emerged online. Included among the acts familiar to the Trainspotting universe (Iggy Pop, Underworld) were a handful of contemporary bands including Young Fathers.

Featuring the Leith Congregational Choir, Only God Knows premiered today via Pitchfork. Danny Boyle reportedly heard of the band when they won the Mercury Music Prize for their 2014 LP Dead.

The soundtrack for the film also features Underworld, Blondie, Wolf Alice, the Clash, Iggy Pop, Queen and a handful of other Young Fathers songs.
