We’re premiering a brand new video from London disco quintet Formation, ahead of their debut album dropping on 24 March.
It’s a breakneck track – rattling percussion and theatrical lyrics with a tightly screwed pop melody at its centre. Speaking of the track, Frontman Will Ritson says: “A Friend kicks off with pummelling immediacy; lyrics that read like age-old maxims are spat out, while bleeps and ticks of percussion misdirect you. It’s all ducking and weaving, building and growing.”
It’s accompanying visual is suitably layered with drama and narrative. A story which Riston describes as, “a twisted, violent dance that transcends the line between lover and enemy, protagonist and belligerent.”
The video is directed by Davis Silas. Pre-order Formation’s debut album Look At The Powerful People here. They tour Europe through March and April. See dates and find tickets here.
