Skepta is the latest addition to the lineup for the 2017 BRIT Awards.
He’s up for three awards, British Male Solo, Best British Breakthrough and British Album of the Year for 2016’s Konnichiwa.
He’s joining the lineup of Bruno Mars, Little Mix, Emeli Sandé and Robbie Williams to perform at the ceremony which is broadcast live from London’s O2 Arena on 22 February.
Following the #BritsSoWhite backlash last year – an online response to the lack of diversity in the nominations – the voting panel had a shakeup this year with 700 new members invited to join bringing the gender balance to 52% male and 48% female with 17% from BAME backgrounds.
Noms for Skepta, Stormzy, NAO and Kano were seen to be representative of this shift.
