John Lydon says Trump is not racist and a “possible friend”

He also says meeting Nigel Farage was “fantastic”

John Lydon made an appearance on Good Morning Britain earlier today (27 March) with hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid.

At the beginning, Lydon made clear that his meeting with ex-UKIP leader Nigel Farage was “fantastic”, and went on to share his thoughts on Brexit: “The working class have spoke, and I’m one of them, and I’m with them. And there it is.”

On the subject of Trump, the PiL frontman and former Sex Pistol said, “What I dislike is the left-wing media in America are trying to smear the bloke as a racist, and that’s completely not true.”

“There’s many, many problems with him as a human being, but he’s not that, and there just might be a chance something good will come out of that situation because he terrifies politicians. And this is joy to behold.”

At one point, Piers Morgan said, “You’ve had a fascinating life and in many ways it’s come full circle. We now have bordering on anarchy in the UK. It might have all been down to you, Johnny Rotten,” to which Lydon replies: “It may well be,” and laughs.
