Mica Levi will release two new tracks in April

Mica Levi

Micachu will release new compositions Peace and Riding Through Drinking Harpo Dine next month

Set to drop on 14 April via Foom Music, Mica Levi will be releasing two tracks – one written for the piano and the other written for the cello.

Peace was originally written for Levi’s mother and will be played by Oliver Coates – a London-based cellist, composer and producer. The track has been performed live before on Micachu’s radio show with NTS back in October 2014.

The pair have previously collaborated together to produce the 2016 album Remain Calm.

The second track, titled Riding Through Drinking Harpo Dine has been written for Eliza McCarthy – the pianist on the Jackie soundtrack and winner of the 2013 British Contemporary Piano Competition – and is the first of a series of compositions to be created for the talented pianist. It’s a rework of the track Harpo Dine from Levi’s 2014 mixtape Feeling Romantic Feeling Tropical Feeling Ill.

This release will follow up from her Oscar and BAFTA nominations for Best Original Score for Jackie. Check out the brown oversized getup she wore to the Oscars awards ceremony.

The lead single, Peace, can be heard on Foom’s soundcloud now.
